Lighting Design

Martin’s Lights has been supplying lighting services to all kinds of events for seventeen years and across the world, and is thus able to draw on a vast wealth of experience of concerts, tours, festivals, conferences, awards ceremonies, dinner-dances, charity shows and product launch events, staged in concert halls, theatres, clubs, arenas, marquees, hotels, churches, and outdoor stages of many kinds, as well as many more unusual venues. We therefore understand the need for flexibility and innovation, as well as careful planning, when designing a lighting system for an event of any size. Lighting and lighting systems can be designed from scratch, from a client’s loose idea, or to an accurate brief, and will often incorporate the latest L.E.D. and automated lighting fixtures. Our experience in the design of lighting systems will always take into account many factors, from the obvious- artistic and budgetary- to the perhaps less obvious, such as time, power and transport constraints for example.

Equipment is supplied to a broad range of clients- local, national and international touring bands, freelance lighting designers and other lighting companies, concert venues of all kinds, schools, churches and local authority-run theatres, venues and events, other production and presentation companies and corporate end clients. Martin’s Lights also has a crew pool of skilled and experienced freelance lighting technicians, riggers, designers, programmers and operators on its books. We only use and recommend technicians with full Public Liability Insurance.

Live music and concert touring is the staple diet of Martin's Lights, we have touring experience in venues from small clubs to arenas, as well as countless festivals, and the last time we counted, we’d done shows in around forty countries across five continents. Corporate production and presentation

Martin's Lights frequently services all kinds of "corporate" events- presentations, product launches, conferences and exhibitions, as well as company parties, gala dinners and dances and awards ceremonies, and has worked for many high-profile end clients such as the BBC, Vodafone, Jaguar and Microsoft. Such events can be serviced on a one-off, regular or even touring basis, and we are equally at home working directly with the end client, or through another production/presentation company. We can provide simple, elegant lighting for a conference with the presenters lit for cameras, and company colours or logos projected onto the set, and can also provide high-energy moving lighting, strobe and smoke effects for a spectacular product launch or an end-of-session party. Whatever the event, the work is always undertaken to the highest standards of health and safety, with site visits undertaken where necessary, all equipment supplied Portable Appliance Tested, and risk assessments and method statements provided where needed. All work is covered by comprehensive all-circumstances public liability insurance.
